Carry one idea through research, requirements, design and decomposition to a specification a planner can consume\.

## Start with what you know

Begin with an idea and the workspace it belongs to\. Once the workspace context is scanned and promoted, `idea-and-research` turns the idea into an evidence\-backed research brief, and `idea-to-prd` turns that brief into one measurable PRD revision\.

## Let each level earn the next

The PRD and the RFC each go through an independent review before they are accepted, and each accepted level feeds the one below it: Epics from the PRD and RFC, Features from one Epic, and one specification per Feature or per Slice\. You choose each subject, and no operation starts the next\.

## What you hand over

The end of the chain is one accepted specification revision per delivery unit\. Read [handing off to planning](https://www.hoalee.net/specgent/docs/guide/handoff) for what it carries, and [the eleven operations](https://www.hoalee.net/specgent/docs/guide/lifecycle) for each step on the way\.
